Inspiration Award

Inspiration Award
Betty Barfield
President, North Texas Intolerance Group
March 2009 marks my 5th year in business. As a way to celebrate I am announcing our Breads From Anna® Inspiration Award. Here at Breads from Anna® I meet people who amaze me with their willingness to help others and always approach the gluten-free life with a positive attitude. Since I started this business the greatest joy, inspiration, and sense of purpose has come from people I meet living (or cooking for others on) a gluten-free diet. Gluten-free greatness is alive and well and I want to recognize and reward these individuals.
The first recipient is Betty Barfield. Betty was diagnosed with celiac in 1989 and most of us know that in 1989 there were not many choices or even an understanding for what it meant to be gluten-free. Betty has been in action for years helping others to not have to go through what she did. She organizes monthly meetings bringing in guest speakers to Texas from all over the country. Betty sends not just monthly newsletters, but also weekly reminders and information to hundreds. Betty calls it her ministry. We see her ministry as a selfless act with a clear purpose to help, inform and improve the lives of many people adjusting to eating gluten-free. I think she is an inspiration to us all!
From those of us at Breads from Anna® (Anna, Rose and Ashley), we are sending Betty a case of mixes and a bread-box as a token of our appreciation.
Thank you Betty!
